First off, you can get a free Audible credit whenever you sign up with a coupon code or through one of the links on this website. This Audible credit lets you download any book for free, regardless of price. Enjoy!
Now, once you’ve enjoyed your free trial (set a reminder on your calendar), go ahead and cancel your account. That is, threaten to cancel your account. You can do so online through your account settings. To convince you not to quit them, Audible will offer you $20 worth of money towards your next Audible purchase. Nice!
So, before they actually do charge your credit card, you can go ahead and cancel if you want. You’ll have to call them on the phone, which is sort of a pain, but they won’t hard sell you if you just tell them that you can’t afford it.
So, wait, that’s only two free audiobooks, right? Wrong. You can get as many free trials as you have credit cards. Simply sign up for new accounts each time.
Is this gaming the system? Kind of. But if you’re like me, you’ll get tired of having multiple accounts and just stick with a low level Audible membership anyway. It’s really worth it, especially if you commute or workout on a regular basis.

Librivox is basically a free online digital library of public domain books. Volunteers read all of these books and they claim to have over 3,000 unabridged books available for free download. Most of the content is in English, however Librivox recordings are available in 26 languages. The site is wildly popular and their goal is to be the worlds most prolific audio book publisher. They generally receive 60-100 audio book recordings per month.
